Prolanis Helps JKN Participants Monitor Chronic Conditions
BATAM - The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis), implemented by BPJS Health under the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN), continues to provide tangible benefits for participants, particularly in helping them manage chronic conditions to maintain stability. The benefits are felt by Iko (38), a JKN participant who has been enrolled in Prolanis for over a year. He is a hypertension patient who previously experienced frequent spikes in blood pressure. Before joining Prolanis, Iko said his health was often unstable, significantly disrupting his daily activities. However, since consistently participating in the program, he has noticed a marked improvement in his health. ‘I’ve observed a significant change in my condition since enrolling. My blood pressure is now better controlled. It used to flare up often, but now it’s much more stable. These days, I exercise more regularly, like playing futsal or running,’ Iko said. Iko also actively maintains his health through regular physical activity. He attributes his increased exercise routine to maintaining fitness and overall well-being. Prolanis Aids participant health management. Another JKN participant, Zainudin (44), who was diagnosed with diabetes, also benefits from Prolanis. He only discovered his condition during a workplace medical check-up. ‘I only found out I had diabetes after a company medical check-up. Since then, I’ve been more vigilant about my health,’ Zainudin said. Despite a busy schedule, Zainudin consistently participates in Prolanis activities. He said the program has helped him become more careful with his lifestyle and monitor his health. ‘These days, I’m more cautious about my health to keep it stable. The Mobile JKN app taught me how to monitor my health, making it easier to maintain a regular lifestyle,’ he added. He emphasised that awareness of dietary habits and health monitoring is crucial to preventing conditions from worsening. As JKN members, both Iko and Zainudin have experienced the program’s health services. Their positive experiences have instilled confidence in JKN’s role in providing equitable healthcare for the public. Both also expressed hope that the JKN program, particularly Prolanis, would continue to operate effectively and offer broader benefits to society. ‘We hope Prolanis and other BPJS Health innovations continue to support the public, not only for those diagnosed with chronic conditions, but for all participants,’ Zainudin said.
