Projo Ready to Accompany Jokowi on a Tour of Indonesia

Deputy Chairman of Projo Freddy Damanik said they are ready to accompany the seventh Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on a tour of Indonesia.

“Ready to accompany President Jokowi (on his travels),” he said during the Satu Meja programme on Kompas TV on Wednesday, 27 February 2026.

He also explained that Jokowi is a national figure who travels to listen to the people’s aspirations.

According to Freddy, Jokowi’s practice of ‘blusukan’ — direct field visits — is his hallmark.

However, in this context, Jokowi is clearly touring to gather public support for the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

Freddy stated that this habit of ‘blusukan’ would translate into electoral benefits from Jokowi’s closeness to the public.

“If this social capital, this political closeness, is to be used — Jokowi’s endorsement in the 2029 political contest — then it’s a benefit for Jokowi and for us Projo volunteers who are close to the people,” he added.

This was stated by Jokowi when answering journalists’ questions about his plans to tour regions with PSI and Projo at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, Central Java, on Monday, 24 May 2026.

“Yes, I have many invitations from regions to attend by the people. I’m healthy and will visit all the invitations,” Jokowi said.

“He has mentioned Lampung, NTT, and West Java. Soon,” said Bestari.

According to Bestari, Jokowi’s visits aim to respond to public invitations and meet PSI officials in the regions.

“Insha’Allah, he will also visit PSI structures in the regions. He has mentioned volunteers too,” he added.
