Seventh President of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with Projo General Chairman Budi Arie earlier this month. Projo Secretary General Freddy Alex Damanik stated that during the meeting, Jokowi said he had recovered 99 per cent and planned to tour Indonesia in June 2026.

The meeting between Jokowi and Budi Arie took place on Wednesday (1/5/2026) in the Rawamangun area, East Jakarta. In a video uploaded by Freddy, Budi Arie and Jokowi appeared to be in a dining area.

Budi Arie and Jokowi spoke privately in a serious manner. Freddy said the meeting was to discuss matters with volunteers.

“There are many volunteer leaders, but in that meeting, Budi Arie and Mr Jokowi had a private conversation for about 20 to 30 minutes,” Freddy told reporters on Tuesday (12/5).

He said meetings between volunteers and Jokowi would be held regularly every three months. Freddy stated that Jokowi’s condition had recovered 99 per cent and he was ready to tour Indonesia to absorb public aspirations.

“There will be regular meetings between Mr Jokowi and volunteers, agreed once every three months, but Mr Jokowi’s door is always open at any time for his volunteers,” Freddy said.

“Mr Jokowi said 99 per cent (recovered), in June he might already tour Indonesia to greet the people,” he added.

Projo stated that Jokowi’s stature still influences Indonesian politics. He mentioned that Jokowi would absorb aspirations accompanied by volunteers.

“His words are to greet the people, no specific agenda. But we are convinced that Mr Jokowi is a political figure who is still very much loved by the people and therefore still has influence in Indonesian politics. When he goes down to the community, he will be accompanied by his volunteers,” he added.

Freddy said Jokowi is still receiving various aspirations regarding the current societal conditions. He mentioned that in the meeting with Budi Arie, there was no discussion about which political party the father of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep would join.

“In that meeting, Mr Jokowi also stated that until now he is still always receiving information and input from Indonesian society from Papua to Aceh about the conditions of Indonesian society,” Freddy said.

“To Projo, Mr Jokowi has never said he is joining any party, including inviting Projo to join any party, which is why Projo friends are still in various parties, including in Mas Kaesang’s PSI party, many Projo friends have also joined,” he added.
