Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to accelerating the development of the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). This is reflected in the positive progress achieved on the Hankam Area Highway and Sepaku Ring Road 4 Project, entrusted by the Ministry of Public Works through the Directorate General of Highways, with current project progress at 62.83%.

President Director of WIKA, Agung Budi Waskito, said this achievement results from the optimisation of execution strategies and on-site project team collaboration.

“We will continue to accelerate work on the critical path while upholding quality standards and safety. The Hankam Area Highway and Sepaku Ring Road project is a tangible contribution by WIKA in supporting the government’s Asta Cita vision, particularly in strengthening infrastructure connectivity, promoting equitable development, and raising the competitiveness of the IKN area,” Agung BW said in a press release, on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

The project has a strategic role as the main connectivity infrastructure linking the defence and security area with access to the legislative area in the Core Governance Area (KIPP) of IKN. WIKA’s scope includes the construction of a road approximately 10.964 kilometres long, the construction of a Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT), six-lane road pavement, and bridge construction. The infrastructure is designed to support efficient mobility, smooth government logistics distribution, as well as the integration of underground utilities in a sustainable manner.

Beyond strengthening connectivity of the government core area, the project also provides long-term benefits such as improved accessibility between strategic zones in IKN, accelerated movement of personnel and defence-security logistics, and support for economic activity around the development area. The presence of the road and integrated utilities system is expected to create a more orderly, modern, and sustainable spatial layout, while also forming the foundation for the development of an integrated area.

Several major works have shown significant progress, including completion of part of the Multi Utility Tunnel, earthworks and geosynthetics, granular and cement concrete pavements, and progress on bridge structures. Currently, the focus is on completing Bridge Section 3.1, the Access Bridge from Paspampres to the HPK Junction, continuation of MUT construction, and road pavement on several segments of the alignment.

All stages of work are undertaken with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and strict quality control through regular inspections, material testing, and supervision of adaptive work methods. Looking forward, WIKA aims to complete the main structural works so that the project can soon function as the backbone of the road network supporting the integrated development of the KIPP IKN.
