Progress on Rearranging East Side of Rasuna Said Road Exceeds 60 Per Cent
The Jakarta Highways Agency (Dinas Bina Marga DKI Jakarta) has recorded that the progress of the rearrangement of the eastern side of Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, has exceeded 50 per cent. “Currently, the progress of the rearrangement of the eastern side of Jalan HR Rasuna Said has reached more than 60 per cent,” stated the Head of the Data and Information Centre of Jakarta Highways, Siti Dinar Wenny, as reported by Antara on Monday (18/5/2026).
Siti stated that the Jakarta Highways Agency is optimistic that the rearrangement of the eastern side of Jalan HR Rasuna Said can be completed before the 499th anniversary of Jakarta on 22 June 2026. During a trial of the Car Free Day (CFD) on Rasuna Said, residents were invited to observe the progress of the area’s redevelopment directly. “We are very pleased that the community has welcomed the new face of the eastern side of Jalan HR Rasuna Said, which is planned to be a gift for Jakarta’s 499th anniversary,” said Siti.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, ensured that the implementation of CFD in the Jalan HR Rasuna Said area will become effectively enforced starting 1 June 2026. This policy is being implemented once all supporting facilities in the area have been fully prepared by the Jakarta Provincial Government. The expansion of CFD to Rasuna Said is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to provide healthier public spaces, improve pedestrian friendliness, and encourage the public to reduce motor vehicle usage on weekends. The Jakarta Provincial Government aims that the rearrangement of pedestrian paths and greening in the Rasuna Said area will provide a new face for one of Jakarta’s primary business hubs.
