The Badung Regency Government is accelerating the completion of the Kuta Selatan II Health Centre construction in Pecatu village, which is now entering its second phase. The addition of this facility is urgently needed, given that the sub-district currently has only one health centre amid a population exceeding 120,000 people.

“In Kuta Selatan, the second phase is almost complete, and we are striving for it to be operational by the end of this year. We hope our tourism remains smooth, unaffected by geopolitics, so that the budget for productive activities benefiting the community is not impacted,” said the Head of the Badung Health Department, Dr Bagus Padma Puspita, on Thursday (16/4/2026).

According to Bagus Padma, Kuta Selatan ideally should have at least three health centres based on the population in the area. Currently, there is only one operational health centre in Kuta Selatan, while the Kuta Selatan II in Pecatu is just starting its second construction phase.

“This is a local aspiration for another health centre, and it is quite significant. We hope that residents of Pecatu, Ungasan, and surrounding areas can utilise this new health centre to support community health efforts (UKM) and individual health efforts (UKP),” emphasised Bagus Padma.

Meanwhile, the Badung Health Department is also planning the construction of the Kuta Utara II Health Centre in Tibubeneng village to meet service standards according to the population of Kuta Utara Sub-district. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the population in that area reached 89,990 people in 2024.

“Kuta Utara, with its dense population, currently has only one health centre, so this year we have received a budget for construction in Tibubeneng. The leadership’s directive also includes the desire to build integrated posts such as fire services, BPBD, and others, because this area supports two tourist destinations that require quick responses in case of incidents,” he stressed.

In line with the Badung Regent’s programme to address congestion, the development in Kuta Utara will also target road infrastructure improvements around the project site, which is located on a shortcut route. The health centre land will be set back a few metres to provide more space for wider public access in the area.

“On the Canggu shortcut, the health centre—and of course others—will be set back three metres so that the connecting road from Batu Bolong to Tibubeneng, extending to Berawa, becomes wider and is expected to reduce congestion there,” explained Bagus Padma.

In addition to physical infrastructure, the Badung Health Department is promoting the digitalisation of services through the Badung Sehat application so that patient data across all health centres is interconnected. Currently, the system covers only four health centres and is targeted to reach all areas/health centres soon, making all medical handling data-based and more measurable.

“We want all health centres to be digitalised so we can know the data of residents who are ill down to the banjar level, ensuring the targets are precise. With this system, we no longer work based on estimates but on data, including monitoring programmes already launched by the regent, such as home care patients, BEST through 24-hour services, Life Expectancy Awards, and others,” he concluded.
