Profile of Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo Caught in KPK Sting Operation

Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out its 10th hand-catch operation (OTT) of 2026 in the Tulungagung area, East Java. In the operation, KPK arrested Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo. The arrest of Gatut was confirmed directly by Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Fitroh Rohcahyanto. “True,” said Fitroh, as reported by ANTARA on Friday, 10 April 2026. KPK has 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of the arrested party in the OTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). Profile of Gatut Sunu Wibowo Gatut Sunu Wibowo was born in Tulungagung on 17 December 1967. Gatut is the Regent of Tulungagung serving for the 2025-2030 period. Before entering politics, Gatut Sunu Wibowo was a businessman. He then became a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and was nominated as Deputy Regent in 2021. However, in 2024, Gatut Sunu Wibowo was no longer nominated by PDIP. He then ran for Regent of Tulungagung with support from a coalition of political parties from Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, and Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Based on his personal Instagram profile, Gatut Sunu Wibowo is currently a cadre of the Gerindra Party.
