Sudaryono, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, was appointed on Wednesday as the new head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), replacing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who stepped down due to health reasons. Sudaryono confirmed he will not hold concurrent positions and will focus on leading the agency.

Born in Grobogan on 23 January 1985, Sudaryono, often called Mas Dar, grew up in the hamlet of Mangunrejo, Tambirejo Village. He became the Chairman of the Gerindra Party’s Regional Leadership Council (DPD) for Central Java at the age of 38. His organisational experience includes serving as Chairman of the Indonesian Market Traders Association (APPSI) and Chairman of the Advisory Board for the National Leadership Council of Tani Merdeka Indonesia.

His professional career began in 2014 as Corporate Secretary at Nusantara Energy. He later served as CEO of Garuda TV and CEO of PT Indonesian Defense and Security Technologies. After studying in Japan, Sudaryono returned to Indonesia and became a personal assistant to Prabowo Subianto, the Chairman of the Gerindra Party. He was appointed Deputy Secretary General of Gerindra before being elected to lead the party’s Central Java chapter. Since his election on 18 October 2023, he has consolidated the party’s structure across the province’s 29 regencies and 6 cities.
