Profile of Rifaldo Aquino, Fugitive in Cambodia Human Trafficking Case Arrested by Indonesian Police
Indonesian National Police have arrested an Indonesian citizen, Rifaldo Aquino Pontoh, an Interpol fugitive, at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Bali. Rifaldo was wanted in connection with international human trafficking (TPPO) and online fraud operations in Cambodia.
Rifaldo Aquino Pontoh’s name had been placed on Interpol’s red notice list. He was sought by Indonesian police over alleged involvement in a human trafficking scandal and international online fraud network based in Cambodia.
During the manhunt, the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, through the NCB Interpol Indonesia Secretariat, received intelligence from NCB Manila on Friday (20 February) that Rifaldo Aquino had been detected transiting from Cambodia to the Philippines.
“NCB Interpol Indonesia received information from NCB Manila regarding Rifaldo, who was travelling from Cambodia to the Philippines before continuing his journey to Bali,” said Commissioner Ricky Purnama, Head of the International Criminal Investigation Section at the NCB Interpol Secretariat of the Police International Relations Division, in a statement on Saturday (21 February 2026).
Acting swiftly, a joint team from the NCB Interpol Indonesia Secretariat and the General Crime Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police departed for Denpasar, Bali. There, the team coordinated with the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police and the airport’s Immigration Office.
“We arrested the Interpol Red Notice subject, Indonesian citizen Rifaldo Aquino Pontoh, on Saturday (21 February) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali,” he said.
No further details have been released regarding the extent of Rifaldo Aquino’s involvement in the human trafficking network. He is currently being held by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for further investigation.
