Education and Career of M Qodari
Muhammad Qodari has an academic background in social and political behaviour. According to the official UGM Alumni page, the Presidential Staff Office, and detikNews, he is an alumnus of the doctoral programme at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) UGM, class of 2007. Previously, this Palembang-born man, born on 15 October 1973, completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia (1997) and obtained a Master’s degree at the University of Essex, England (2002), specialising in political behaviour.
Qodari previously served as Deputy Chief of Presidential Staff (KSP) on 20 October 2024. Then, on 17 September 2025, he was appointed as Chief of Presidential Staff.
Long before his foray into politics, Qodari was known as the founder of Indo Barometer, an independent research institute, in 2006. Three years earlier, in 2003, he was recorded as the research director at the Indonesian Survey Institute. In 2002, Qodari worked at the Institute for Information Flow (ISAI) and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
In addition to being active in the research world, he is also productive in producing scientific writings. One of Qodari’s works is titled “Rumours of Hatred: Mass Media and Religious Prejudice”.
