Profile of Khoirudin, PKS Jakarta DPRD Chairman Facing Replacement

The name Khoirudin has come into the spotlight following proposals to replace the Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Amid this dynamic, Khoirudin is known as a politician who has built a long career from the world of education to the pinnacle of the capital’s legislative leadership. According to the official Jakarta DPRD website accessed by Kompas.com on Tuesday (21/4/2026), Khoirudin began serving as a member of the Jakarta DPRD for the 2019–2024 period. Previously, he had long been active in PKS, including serving as Chairman of the South Jakarta PKS Branch since 2006. He also initiated a leadership forum for seven months to prepare party leaders from the sub-district to municipal levels. In addition, he pioneered the construction of the South Jakarta PKS Branch office. His political career continued to develop. In 2015, he was entrusted to become Deputy Chairman of the PKS Jakarta Provincial Board, before later serving as Chairman of the PKS Jakarta Provincial Board for the 2020–2025 period. Based on data quoted from the PKS Jakarta website, Khoirudin was born in Jakarta on 8 July 1966. He is Muslim and married to Dra. Hj. Rosyadah, with three children. He resides in the West Cilandak area, South Jakarta. His background comes from a Betawi family. His grandfather, Haji Gatong, was known as one of the first Quranic teachers in the Meruya Ilir area, West Jakarta. He then continued his education at Jakarta State University, majoring in curriculum and technology, with a Supersemar scholarship, and graduated in 1992. Before entering politics, Khoirudin worked as a teacher.
