Profile of Inspector General Suhendri, the Brimob General Entrusted to Lead 9,000 Participants at Bhayangkara Anniversary

Thousands of joint personnel crowded the Polri Brimob Satlat field in Cikeas, Bogor Regency, during the peak ceremony of the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary, led by President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday, 1 July 202<0xA0>6.

Behind the execution of the ceremony was the figure of Police Inspector General Suhendri, who was entrusted to serve as the ceremony commander. The two-star general led approximately 9,000 participants, consisting of personnel from the National Police (Polri), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and various elements of society throughout the procession.

Irjen Suhendri is not a new name within the Bhayangkara Corps. A 1993 graduate of the Police Academy (Akpol) from Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, he has spent the majority of his career within the Brimob Corps. He has held various strategic positions, including Director of Vital Object Security at Korsabhara Baharkam Polri. Currently, Suhendri serves as the Level I Chief Bomb Disposal Technician (Jibom) for the Polri Brimob Corps.

His appointment as ceremony commander represents a significant assignment for this year’s Bhayangkara Anniversary celebrations, which were centred at the Brimob Cikeas training facility.

President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to directly lead the peak ceremony of the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary held at the Polri Brimob Satlat in Cikeas, Bogor Regency. Unlike previous years, which were traditionally held at the National Monument (Monas) area, this year’s commemoration was centred at the Brimob education complex.

In addition to President Prabowo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka was also scheduled to attend alongside various ministries, agencies, stakeholders, invited guests, and various elements of the community participating in the ceremony and parade.

The Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Police Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the President would act as the ceremony inspector for the Bhayangkara Corps anniversary.

“At the 80th Bhayangkara Ceremony, it will be led by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Prabowo Subianto, as the Ceremony Inspector, and attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as well as all Ministries/Agencies and stakeholders, with invited guests and a parade defile involving participants from all elements of society,” said Isir.
