Profile of Glory, New Suspect in MBG Case and His Closeness to Former BGN Head
Glory Harimas Sihombing has become the sixth suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Who exactly is Glory Harimas, and how is he suspected of selling service points for nutritional fulfilment (SPPG)?
According to the Attorney General’s Office on Friday (19/6/2026), Glory is the Chairman of the Indonesia Food Security Review (IFSR) Foundation. Its website describes IFSR as a ‘strategic think-tank committed to strengthening Indonesia’s food security through evidence-based research, policy advocacy, and programme implementation’. IFSR states it is an official partner of the UN World Food Programme in supporting the MBG programme and is also a member of the School Meals Coalition.
Glory’s name is not new to the MBG programme. In May 2025, Glory and IFSR launched a book titled ‘IFSR’s Strategy in Accelerating the Implementation of 32,000 SPPG and 82 Million Beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme’. The launch took place in Jakarta on 9 May 2025, attended by Glory as IFSR Executive Director and his colleagues. The then Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, also attended the event, where he praised IFSR for its consistent support of the MBG programme. Glory and his team personally handed the book to Dadan.
In October 2025, Glory launched an MBG review website, stating it was created to provide feedback on the menus served. At the time, he expressed sadness that volunteers at SPPG units were working hard, yet public attention was focused on food poisoning incidents.
Now, Glory has been named a suspect. On Thursday (18/6/2026), the Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General’s Office for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, revealed that Dadan Hindayana had known Glory before 2024. Glory is suspected of being asked by Dadan to find partners for implementing the MBG programme. Dadan allegedly gave Glory unlawful access to obtain SPPG kitchen points through the IFSR foundation.
Glory is then suspected of selling the SPPG points he acquired to other parties, with the price reaching approximately Rp 100 million per point. He also allegedly received access from Dadan to communicate with the SPPG verification team, allowing him to orchestrate the transfer of SPPG points from his foundation to buyers. Furthermore, Glory is suspected of giving money, both in foreign currency and rupiah, sourced from MBG partners who sought his help to become programme partners, to Dadan in cash.
Prior to Glory, the Attorney General’s Office had already named five other suspects in the case: former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana, former BGN Deputy Heads Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, Asep Yusuf Somantri (a close associate of Sony), and Andri Mulyono, a commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal, the provider of electric motors for BGN.
