Profile of Glory Harimas Sihombing, New Suspect in BGN Corruption Case

The Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office has named Glory Harimas Sihombing, Chairman of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation, as a suspect in the alleged corruption of the free nutritious meal programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). “The investigation team has named GHS, a private party, as a suspect in the case in question,” said Director of Investigations at the Jampidsus, Syarief Sulaiman Nahdi, when confirmed by Tempo on Thursday, 18 June 2026. However, Syarief has not yet explained the details of Glory’s role. Glory is the sixth suspect in the BGN corruption case. Previously, prosecutors had named former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana and his two deputies, retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya and retired Army Lieutenant General Lodewyk Pusung. Prosecutors also named Asep Yusuf Somantri and PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal (PT YAT) Commissioner Andri Mulyono. On his LinkedIn account, Glory claims to be a Biology graduate from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). During his studies from 2010 to 2014, Glory was included in the Dean’s List of the School of Life Sciences at ITB. After that, Glory worked at PT Rekan Usaha Mikro Anda (RUMA/Mapan) as part of the Product Development team. In 2015, he served as a National Acquisition Analyst at PT Toyota Astra Financial Services for a year until April 2016. From 2016 to 2019, Glory joined the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company as a Consultant. In 2017, he joined SYSTEMIQ Ltd. At the end of 2019, he served as Head of Corporate Planning and Business Development at LinkAja. According to a release issued by the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government in 2020, Glory was mentioned as having served as a Director at PT Agro Industri Nasional (PT Agrinas). At that time, he represented PT Agrinas in signing a memorandum of understanding with the Bangka Belitung Islands and South Sumatra provincial governments regarding the development of sustainable agricultural areas and national food security. During the 2024 presidential election, Glory Harimas Sihombing became the coordinator of the Expert Council (Balai Dewan Pakar), an organisation supporting Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The Expert Council once published a book titled ‘Prabowo Sang Penerus’. Glory is currently the Chairman of the Indonesia Food Security Review (IFSR) Foundation. According to Antara, IFSR once published a book titled ‘IFSR Strategy in Accelerating the Implementation of 32,000 SPPG and 82 Million Beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme’. The co-founder of this foundation is Gerindra Party cadre Dirgayuza Setiawan, who is now the President’s Special Assistant for Communication. The book was launched on 9 May 2025 and subsequently handed over to the then Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana. In an Indonesia Corruption Watch report titled ‘Who is Behind MBG?’, the Indonesia Food Security Foundation is alleged to be on the list of foundations affiliated with Prabowo-Gibran Young Volunteers, the Prabowo-Gibran Expert Council, and the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team. The foundation’s supervisor is Hanief Adrian, Secretary General of Prabowo-Gibran Young Volunteers. The report also states that Glory was the coordinator of the Prabowo Expert Council. According to the BGN website, the foundation managed by Glory operates several MBG kitchens, including on Jalan Ki Hajar Dewantara, Sawah Village, Ciputat District, South Tangerang; Jalan Godean, Sidokarto, Godean District, Sleman, DIY; Jalan Surami, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta; Jalan M Bakri, Singajaya Jonggol, Bogor; and in Karawang.
