Profile of Friderica Widyasari Dewi, OJK Chair 2026–2031: Her Track Record
Friderica Widyasari Dewi’s profile has become a matter of public interest following her appointment as the new chair of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the 2026–2031 period.
The appointment was made by Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives after candidates underwent fitness and propriety testing. Through an internal parliamentary discussion, Dewi was confirmed as OJK chair, heading the financial services sector regulatory body for the next five years.
The parliament simultaneously confirmed other executive positions, including Hasan Fawzi as Executive Head of Capital Markets, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange Supervision; Adi Budiarso as Executive Head of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets and Cryptocurrency Supervision; and Dicky Kartikoyono as Executive Head of Financial Services Business Conduct, Financial Education, and Consumer Protection Supervision.
Amidst this public attention, many Indonesians have sought to learn more about Dewi’s background and career trajectory that has earned her the trust to lead the OJK.
Before being appointed as permanent chair, Friderica previously served as Acting Chair of the OJK, an experience that is valued as demonstrating her understanding of the various challenges facing Indonesia’s financial services sector.
Her experience in supervision, financial education, and consumer protection strengthened her position in the OJK leadership selection process. As chair of the financial services sector regulator, Friderica is expected to strengthen the stability of the financial industry whilst enhancing protection for the public as financial services consumers.
Her leadership is also anticipated to address emerging challenges, including financial technology developments, digital assets, and dynamics in the global economy.
