Profile of Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman Arrested in KPK Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted another sting operation (OTT) on Friday 13 March 2026. In this operation, the KPK arrested Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“It is true (that the Cilacap Regent was arrested),” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rochahyanto when confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday.

However, the anti-corruption agency has not yet disclosed the identities of other parties secured in the operation.

According to the Cilacap Regency Government website, Syamsul was born on 30 November 1985 in Cilacap Regency, Central Java.

He received his primary education at SDN Tritih Wetan 1 (1992-1998), SMP Negeri 5 Cilacap (1998-2001), and SMA Negeri 1 Cilacap (2001-2004).

After completing most of his education in Cilacap, Syamsul entered the Institute of Domestic Government (IPDN) and graduated in 2008.

His government career began from the position of Head of Civil Order Section at Kedungreja District in 2012. Subsequently, in 2013, he was appointed as Sub-head of Regional Autonomy and Cooperation at the Government Administration Division of the Cilacap Regency Government.

Syamsul Auliya Rachman was later elected Cilacap Regent for the 2025-2030 term, paired with Ammy Amalia Fatma Surya as Vice Regent.
