Jakarta – Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has imposed a lifetime ban on Benny Tjokrosaputro, commonly known as Benny Tjokro, from conducting activities in the capital market sector. He is prohibited from serving as a Board Commissioner, Director or manager of any capital market sector company, effective 13 March 2026.

“Benny Tjokrosaputro, as the controlling shareholder of PT Bliss Properti Indonesia Tbk, is prohibited from serving as Board Commissioner, Director and or manager of any capital market sector company for life, effective from the date the letter was issued on 13 March 2026,” the OJK stated in an official statement on Saturday (14 March 2026).

The sanction was imposed following OJK’s discovery of violations during the initial public offering (IPO) process of PT Bliss Properti Indonesia Tbk. “Because Mr Benny Tjokrosaputro is the party responsible for PT Bliss Properti Indonesia Tbk’s proven breach of Article 69 paragraph (1) of the Capital Market Law,” explained Ismail.

The violations concerned the recording of receivables from related parties and advance payments to other companies in the company’s financial statements. In the 2019 annual financial report, PT Bliss Properti Indonesia Tbk recorded receivables from PT Bintang Baja Hitam totalling Rp 31.25 billion.

The company also recorded advance payments to PT Ardha Nusa Utama totalling Rp 116.7 billion, which appeared in financial reports from 2019 to 2023. These funds originated from the IPO proceeds of PT Bliss Properti Indonesia Tbk. The OJK discovered fund flows of Rp 126.6 billion to Benny Tjokrosaputro and Rp 116.7 billion to PT Ardha Nusa Utama.

Benny Tjokrosaputro is widely known in the domestic capital market. He is the Chief Executive Officer of PT Hanson International Tbk and grandson of Kasom Tjokrosaputro, founder of the Batik Keris business group.

In 2018, Benny was included on Forbes’ list of Indonesia’s 50 wealthiest individuals, ranking 43rd with an estimated net worth of USD 670 million, or approximately Rp 9.8 trillion using the exchange rate assumptions of that period.

Shares of PT Hanson International Tbk (MYRX) have been synonymous with Benny’s activities in the domestic stock market. However, long before his current legal troubles, Benny had previously faced other capital market cases.
