Profile of Andi Rahadian Appointed as Indonesia's Ambassador to Oman and Yemen
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Andi Rahadian as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Sultanate of Oman, concurrently serving the Republic of Yemen, at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
This inauguration forms part of the filling of several strategic diplomatic positions for Indonesia abroad, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations across various regions.
Andi Rahadian is a career diplomat who graduated from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Trisakti and Monash University in Australia.
Throughout his career, Andi has served at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Addis Ababa, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in San Francisco, and the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) in Darwin.
In addition to his diplomatic roles, Andi has also worked at the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform since 2019.
At the ministry, he held the position of Head of the Bureau of Law and Public Information, and previously served as Assistant Deputy for Coordination of Policy Implementation and Evaluation of Bureaucratic Reform, Apparatus Accountability, and Supervision III.
In his statement following the inauguration, Andi expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Oman, particularly in the fields of politics, economy, and culture.
“Insha’Allah, I will carry out the tasks assigned by the President to enhance bilateral relations in a positive manner across politics, economy, social affairs, culture, protocol, and consular matters, in accordance with the directives from the President,” Andi said at the State Palace.
Andi also stated that he would implement all instructions and orders from the central government in carrying out his duties as ambassador, and hopes to fulfil this mandate as best as possible for the interests of the nation and state.
In addition to strengthening inter-state relations, he emphasised the importance of protecting Indonesian citizens (WNI) as a priority of Indonesia’s diplomacy in the region.
Regarding the developing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, Andi stated that he would follow all directives given by the central government in executing his duties in the assigned area.
“Insha’Allah, as conveyed by the President, we will carry out all directives from the centre, and we will execute the orders given from the centre to the best of our ability upon assuming our duties as the Extraordinary Ambassador of Indonesia,” he said.
