Profile of Adela Kanasya Adies, Now Seated in the DPR Replacing Her Father

The name Adela Kanasya Adies is currently in the public spotlight after her official inauguration as a member of the DPR RI through the midterm replacement mechanism (PAW). This young politician from the Golkar Party is replacing her father, Adies Kadir, who now serves as a judge at the Constitutional Court (MK).

Adela’s inauguration took place during a plenary session of the DPR RI, chaired by House Speaker Puan Maharani, at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026). She joins the DPR RI for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term, representing the East Java I electoral district from the Golkar Party.

Unlike most young politicians, Adela has an educational background in healthcare. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Airlangga University and has worked as a doctor and medical aesthetics practitioner.

In her professional career, Adela is also recorded as working at a beauty clinic and being a member of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI).

Adela’s figure began to be widely discussed by the public since her father’s name was appointed as a constitutional judge. Now, her step into Senayan is seen as the beginning of the political career of the new generation from the Adies Kadir family. Nevertheless, Adela’s emergence in the DPR has also raised discussions about familial politics because she is directly replacing her biological father’s position through the PAW mechanism.

As the youngest DPR RI member from the latest PAW wave, Adela is said to bring the spirit of youth representation to parliament. In an official DPR statement, she is expected to present new perspectives, especially regarding health, women’s, and youth issues.

Meanwhile, Adies Kadir himself is a senior Golkar Party politician who has long been active in the DPR RI. Before moving to the Constitutional Court, he served as Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI for the 2024–2025 period and is known as one of Golkar’s senior cadres from East Java.
