BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: State Minister of
Population/Chairman of the Coordinating Board for Family Planning
Haryono Suyono will be named honorary professor in community
health from the Surabaya-based Airlangga University.

The Antara news agency said yesterday the ceremony would be
held at the university on Sept. 12.

Haryono has been campaigning for the promotion of family
health since the government launched the national family planning
program in 1970.

For the current government-sponsored "happy family" campaign,
he suggested that people in rural areas care more about
cleanliness by cementing their floors.

"It sounds simplistic but cementing the floor can protect the
family from various disease such as respiratory infection and
skin rashes," he says. (pan)
