Productive Financing Flows into the Real Sector

PT Mekar Investable Teknologi (MEKAR) is strengthening ecosystem-based productive financing, focusing on the agriculture, MSME, food, and renewable energy sectors.

This model is developed through the MEKAR Ecosystem, which connects financing with business mentoring, monitoring technology, market access, and value chain partnerships. This approach ensures that financing does not stop at capital distribution; MEKAR positions it as an instrument to increase productivity and business sustainability.

The Chief Executive Officer of PT Mekar Investama Teknologi, Pandu Aditya Kristy, stated that the financial sector needs to move beyond mere financing.

“We believe that the future of the financial sector does not stop at financing. By connecting capital to the agricultural sector, waste-to-energy, and various other productive sectors through the MEKAR Ecosystem, we want to create a real impact on society while supporting sustainable economic growth,” said Pandu on Monday (29/6).

One of the main pillars of the MEKAR Ecosystem is Multi Micro Agriculture Financing (MMAF). This model combines productive financing with agronomic assistance, satellite-based land monitoring, market access, and agricultural partnerships. Through MMAF, MEKAR connects capital directly to farmers’ production activities. This model is designed to improve the quality of financing, while also helping farmers optimise their land and maintain sustainable income.

MEKAR is also expanding financing to the MSME and waste-to-energy sectors. The company noted that more than 80 per cent of its financing recipients are MSMEs run by women. In the waste-to-energy sector, MEKAR supports the processing of agricultural and wood waste, converting it into value-added renewable energy.

This ecosystem-based financing approach has gained international recognition. MEKAR received three awards at the FinanceAsia Awards 2026 and the WRISE Volare Awards 2026. At the FinanceAsia Awards 2026, MEKAR won ‘Best Strategic Initiative - Non-bank Financial Institutions Indonesia’ and received a ‘Highly Commended’ distinction for ‘Biggest Sustainable Impact - Non-bank Financial Institutions Indonesia’.

On the same day, MEKAR received the ‘Best Environmental, Social, and Governance Ecosystem Platform’ award at the WRISE Volare Awards 202<0xA0>6.

“These awards reflect MEKAR’s commitment to redefining productive financing by creating a real impact on society,” said Pandu. Moving forward, MEKAR plans to expand the implementation of MMAF, strengthen strategic partnerships, and utilise technology to develop sustainable finance in Indonesia.
