Makkah (ANTARA) - The final stage of manufacturing the new Kiswah for the Kaaba at the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba in Makkah has been completed, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s dedication to the Two Holy Mosques through advanced technology and skilled craftsmanship.

Head of the Kiswah sewing department, Salah Al-Sulami, said the manufacturing process began with preparing the white cotton inner lining for the four sides of the Kaaba, which was then joined to the embroidered silk panels displaying Islamic inscriptions and motifs.

Each silk panel measures approximately 14 metres by one metre and is precisely joined to form the complete Kiswah using an advanced sewing system.

This stage was carried out using one of the largest sewing machines employed in the making of the Kiswah, making it one of the longest in the world.

The machine features an advanced laser-guided control system that accurately directs the path of the needle and thread during sewing, ensuring exceptional accuracy and alignment.

This allows the components of the Kiswah to be produced with the highest levels of precision and consistency, resulting in a finished product that meets the finest standards of quality and craftsmanship befitting this renowned Islamic work.
