Product Not Yet Released Already Secures Orders of Rp17,000 Trillion, No Wonder He's Rich
Jakarta - Nvidia has become one of the companies most benefiting from the explosion in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The US-based company develops chips touted as the most advanced on the market at present. The global tech giants’ race to deliver smarter AI has boosted Nvidia’s business. Indeed, the company founded by Jensen Huang is said to have already secured orders of up to US$1 trillion (Rp17,159 trillion) for its two flagship chips, Blackwell and Vera Rubin. Yet, these two chips are not yet officially available on the market on a wide scale. Delivery schedules are projected to run until two years from now. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that demand for Blackwell and Vera Rubin is surging, both from large companies and startups. “If they can get additional capacity, they can deliver more tokens, their revenue will rise,” Huang said, as quoted by CNBC International on Monday (20/4/2025). Nvidia’s GPU chips are selling strongly amid the race among technology companies to develop and offer AI products. As a result, Nvidia’s share price has skyrocketed, pumping the company’s valuation to US$4.901 trillion, the highest in the world. Jensen Huang is also enjoying the rise in share price from his holdings, making him one of the world’s richest people with wealth of US$174.4 billion. Vera Rubin is a new chip that will be released at the end of this year. With 1.3 million components inside it, Vera Rubin is claimed to be able to increase performance per watt by up to ten times compared to its predecessor, Grace Blackwell. This improvement is vital for curbing electricity consumption in AI processing at data centres worldwide. Last year, Nvidia projected revenue of US$500 million from sales of both chip technologies.
