Prodigy Technovations Launches Industry's First UFS 5.0 Protocol Exerciser and Analyser to Drive AI Storage Era
Prodigy Technovations Pvt. Ltd, a leading provider of protocol analysis solutions, has announced that the PGY-UFS5-EX-PA has been successfully tested and officially launched. The breakthrough device is the industry’s first UFS 5.0 protocol exerciser and analyser, designed to accelerate the development of next-generation flash memory interfaces required by the rapidly growing AI-based ecosystem.
With support for MIPI M-PHY v6.0, MIPI UniPro v3.0, and JEDEC UFS 5.0 specifications, the PGY-UFS5-EX-PA delivers data transfer speeds of up to 46.64 Gbps per lane. This significant leap in throughput is essential for running artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, high-speed mobile computing, automotive ADAS, and immersive AR/VR applications seamlessly.
As more AI processing shifts from the cloud to the edge, mobile devices and automotive SoCs require significantly higher storage performance to handle complex large language models (LLMs) and real-time data processing. The PGY-UFS5-EX-PA equips design and test engineers with essential tools to validate UniPro v3.0 and UFS 5.0 designs, while ensuring these designs meet stringent reliability and performance standards in the AI era.
“The shift to AI running directly on devices demands a fundamental change in how data is accessed and transferred,” said Godfree Coelho, Founder and CEO of Prodigy Technovations. “Through its innovative probing solutions and protocol analysis capabilities, the PGY-UFS5-EX-PA addresses the unique challenges of PAM4 signal acquisition at 46.64 Gbps speeds. By overcoming these challenges, we support SoC and UFS 5.0 vendors in building the high-performance, low-latency storage foundation required by AI-based applications.”
Prodigy Technovations has long been a Contributor member of the MIPI Alliance and actively participates in the M-PHY and UniPro working groups.
“The MIPI Alliance welcomes the continued development of tools such as the PGY-UFS5-EX-PA to support the implementation and validation of M-PHY v6.0 and UniPro v3.0,” said Peter Lefkin, executive director of MIPI Alliance. “These efforts help strengthen the ecosystem by helping companies evaluate and adopt these specifications for a wide range of applications.”
Key features of the PGY-UFS5.0-EX-PA include support for 46.64 Gbps per lane speeds to handle data-intensive AI workloads, flexibility to capture very large volumes of data through continuous protocol data streaming, real-time protocol decoding with error analysis, packet content-based triggering at the M-PHY v6.0, UniPro v3.0, and UFS 5.0 layers, and protocol decoding and analysis for M-PHY v6.0, UniPro v3.0, and UFS 5.0 layers.
