Probolinggo Seaweed Processing Company Receives Bonded Zone Facility
PT HOH Food Global, a company engaged in seaweed processing with exports destined for South Korea, has received permission for a bonded zone facility from the East Java II Customs Region Office on Monday (20/4/2026). The company, which has been operating since 2023 in Probolinggo City, East Java, is known to employ 350 local workers with an investment value of Rp 11 billion. With the bonded zone facility permit in hand, the company is expected to increase its production capacity and optimise its performance. “The granting of the bonded zone facility is to support ease of doing business. From the Customs perspective, this permission embodies the Customs’ role as a trade facilitator and industrial assistance,” stated the Head of the East Java II Customs Region Office, Muhamad Lukman, in a statement on Wednesday (22/4/2026). Lukman mentioned that before obtaining the bonded zone facility permission, the company had to submit an application and present its business processes to the East Java II Customs Region Office team. “The presentation of business processes is a stage that the company must go through with the aim of providing an overview of the business processes run by the company and the economic impact as consideration for decision-making on the bonded zone facility permission,” he said. In accordance with the Customs service promise, the permission was issued one hour after the presentation. “We hope that this bonded zone facility permission can be maximally utilised by the company to support its industrial activities. Such utilisation must always be carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions,” Lukman concluded.
