Probolinggo, East Java (ANTARA) - The Probolinggo Regency Government, East Java, through the Department of Youth, Sports and Tourism (Disporapar), conducted a monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of online ticketing in the Mount Bromo tourist area from Thursday (14/5) to Friday (15/5).

The activity, led by the Head of the Probolinggo Regency Disporapar, Heri Mulyadi, involved several related agencies such as the Probolinggo Regency Department of Transportation (Dishub), the Probolinggo Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Sukapura sub-district, and Mount Bromo tourism jeep operators.

“The monitoring and evaluation is carried out as a follow-up to the implementation of the regulation requiring the payment of tourism levies online before tourists enter the Mount Bromo area,” said Heri Mulyadi in Probolinggo, Friday (15/5).

Through this system, tourists are required to purchase entrance tickets online through the official website before entering the tourist area. Each jeep vehicle carrying tourists is also required to have a ticket according to the number of passengers.

He said the implementation of online ticketing aims to create a more organised, modern, and professional tourism management system.

The digital system not only makes it easier to serve tourists but also supports the administration of more accurate visitor data collection.

“The implementation of ticketing is part of the local government’s efforts to improve administrative order, service certainty, and visitor data collection for Mount Bromo tourism,” he said.

Meanwhile, tourists who have tickets can immediately undergo a barcode scanning process before being allowed to enter the Mount Bromo tourist area.

Heri explained that the system also supports the administration of tourism insurance claims if something undesirable happens to visitors.

“With the online ticketing system, tourist data can be recorded better, making it easier for administrative processes, including tourism insurance claims,” he said.

In addition to ensuring the smooth implementation of the online ticketing system, the monitoring and evaluation activities were also carried out to anticipate vehicle congestion and queues on the roads leading to the Mount Bromo tourist area.

Coordination with tourism jeep operators and tourism businesses continues to be strengthened to ensure the optimal implementation of the system.

“We continue to socialise with jeep operators and all tourism stakeholders so that the implementation of online ticketing can run smoothly and provide convenience for tourists,” he said.

According to Heri, the implementation of the online ticketing system is part of the transformation of tourism services in the Mount Bromo area to be safer, more organised, and in line with technological developments.
