Pro-Palestinian Protesters Rally at White House Against Netanyahu Visit

Pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside the White House on Monday to demonstrate against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington ahead of his scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump. Waving Palestinian flags, the protesters carried banners criticising American support for Israel. Messages on the banners included calls to end US support for Israel and to prioritise Palestinian human rights. The demonstration occurred as Netanyahu arrived in Washington for talks with Trump at the White House on Tuesday. The meeting marks the eighth between the two leaders since Trump’s election to a second term. The US has long faced criticism for its support of Israel amid the war in the Gaza Strip, where more than 73,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed since Tel Aviv launched its genocidal war on 7 October 2023.
