Priyo, Defendant in Indramayu family murder case, applies for Justice Collaborator status
Priyo Bagus Setiawan, one of the defendants in the murder case of a family in Paoman sub-district, Indramayu Regency, has filed for Justice Collaborator status. Priyo’s lawyer, Ruslandi, said the filing had been sent to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The request was also conveyed to the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) and the Indramayu District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari). Ruslandi explained that Priyo was an eyewitness to the killings. Therefore, his testimony could be the key to uncovering the mystery surrounding the deaths of the five members of the Haji Syahroni family. He explained that a justice collaborator is a defendant who cooperates with law enforcement authorities to reveal a criminal act. “Priyo chose to be honest. Previously he felt pressured by the situation and the presence of defendant Ririn Rifanto,” said Ruslandi. Ruslandi added that, from the time the murder occurred until the flight and attempted arrest, Priyo’s mobile phone was controlled by defendant Ririn. It is alleged that Ririn prevented Priyo from communicating with others, especially law enforcement. “So Ririn did not want his communications to be detected. Therefore, he used another person’s phone,” he said. Ruslandi added that the four names previously mentioned by defendant Priyo as the perpetrators were merely the fabrication of Ririn. The four names were Aman Yani, Joko, Hardi and Yoga.
