Private sentry box in Pluit
Private sentry box in Pluit
From Bisnis Indonesia
In front of Jl. Pluit Barat Raya 32, on the bank of the Pluit
river in West Jakarta, a guard post is manned 24 hours a day by
three to five people dressed in green uniforms. The sentry box
was built by the owner of the house and the guards have been
hired to protect the house and it's inhabitants.
It is said that the owner, an Indonesian citizen of foreign
extraction, is in the process of evicting the small traders of
the Muara Karang traditional market and feels the need for
protection.
I would like to ask the related agency if the use of army
personnel can be justified. I think there is a need to restore
the reputation of the Armed Forces. It should not be tarnished by
a few who serve somebody's personal interests.
