Private Fuel Stations Shell, Vivo, and BP Now Mostly Selling Diesel
A number of private Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) have been observed to still not be selling petrol-based fuels, particularly amid recent price adjustments. Based on field observations, a Shell station in the Margonda area of Depok remains closed, while a Shell station located in Tangerang is only selling V-Power Diesel at a price of Rp24,490. A Vivo station in Radar Auri, Cibubur, appeared unable to serve fuel sales due to depleted stock. Meanwhile, BP-AKR stations in Margonda Depok and Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, for instance, are still operating but only selling diesel fuel. This condition was visible on information boards at BP stations displaying only the price of BP Ultimate Diesel at Rp25,060 per litre. Citing BP-AKR’s Instagram account @bp_idn, as of 10 June 2026, the prices of petrol products have increased. The price of BP 92 rose to Rp16,670 per litre from the previous Rp12,390 per litre. The BP Ultimate product increased to Rp17,240 per litre from the previous Rp12,930 per litre, while BP Ultimate Diesel remained at Rp25,060 per litre. In relation to this, Pertamina stations have also raised the prices of Pertamax RON 92 and Pertamax Green 95 or RON 95. Taking fuel prices in DKI Jakarta as an example, the price of Pertamax increased from Rp12,300 per litre to Rp16,250 per litre. Pertamax Green 95 increased from Rp12,900 per litre to Rp17,000 per litre. Subsidised fuels such as Pertalite and Solar Subsidy remain unchanged. Pertamina Patra Niaga stated that the price increase was decided after coordination with the government as the regulator and was carried out in accordance with periodic evaluation mechanisms that consider global oil price developments and economic market prices. Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun explained that the adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices follows applicable regulations and is part of the implementation of energy governance aimed at maintaining a balance between business sustainability, service quality, and certainty of energy supply for the public. “The price adjustment for Pertamax and Pertamax Green was made after an evaluation process in accordance with the pricing formula set by the government. These selling prices were decided in coordination with the government as the regulator, and are part of efforts to ensure the sustainability of energy provision and the optimal distribution of quality fuel for the public,” said Roberth in a press release.
