Private Farizal Was Supposed to Complete His Duty in Lebanon in April 2026

Private Farizal Rhomadhon was actually due to complete his service as a peacekeeper in Lebanon this April 2026. Approaching the end of his tour, Private Farizal was instead killed in an Israeli attack on the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) guard post near Adchit Al Qusayr on Sunday (29/3) local time. Supinah, Private Farizal’s mother, said her son began his duty in Lebanon about a year ago. The late soldier was scheduled to finish his service this April 2026 and return to the homeland in May. The deceased had even shown his mother the return schedule. “End of April finished, then May home, there’s already a flight schedule, I’ve been sent it, the schedule. Anyway, in May, divided into several groups,” said Supinah at the mourning house in Ledok, Lendah, Kulon Progo, DIY, on Tuesday (31/3). Supinah recounted that she and her son had routinely made video calls every day for the past year. The same with his wife and child who are now in Aceh. However, her son reported that conditions at his duty station lately were often accompanied by the wail of sirens indicating emergency situations. “Lately it’s a bit emergency, entering the bunker every time, for how many hours, then when safe come out. If the siren sounds, must enter, every time,” she revealed. Now, Supinah and her family are still awaiting the latest news regarding the return of Private Farizal’s body. Upon arrival, the body will be buried in a public cemetery complex in Ledok. “Closer, so (buried) near (the grave of) his grandfather, family,” she said. Meanwhile, the Commander of Kodim (Dandim) 0731/Kulon Progo, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Dyan Niti Sukma, stated there is a possibility that Private Farizal Rhomadon’s body will arrive in Indonesia on Wednesday (1/4). Dyan explained that they are still communicating with the TNI Peacekeeping Mission Centre (PMPP) regarding the plan to repatriate Private Farizal’s body. “So currently still in the waiting stage. Insya Allah, hopefully the day after tomorrow already arrives in the homeland, but we will still monitor the repatriation,” said Dyan when met at Private Farizal’s mourning house in Ledok, Lendah, Kulon Progo, DIY, on Monday (30/4) night. The Dandim said that for the procedure of repatriating the deceased’s body, the TNI PMPP can provide more detailed answers. He estimated that the process is currently focused on the administrative stage. Private Farizal was killed in the Israeli attack on the UNIFIL peacekeeping force guard post. The attack by Zionist forces occurred near Adchit Al Qusayr on Sunday (29/3) local time. The news of this TNI member’s death was previously confirmed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The attack by Israeli forces occurred near Adchit Al Qusayr. In his official X social media account, Guterres expressed strong condemnation of the attack that killed one TNI personnel attached to UNIFIL. UNIFIL has demanded an immediate investigation into the incident. In its official release, they stated that an unidentified projectile exploded near their headquarters in Adchit Al Qusayr. Authorities currently do not know the origin of the projectile. UNIFIL requests that all parties must comply with international law and ensure the security and safety of all UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.
