Prisoner's remains returned to Malaysia
CIREBON, West Java: The remains of Koh Kim Chea, a Malaysian citizen who was found dead in his cell in Cirebon Penitentiary last Saturday, were sent back to Malaysia after undergoing an autopsy at the Gunung Jati General Hospital in the city.
Hyesma Satyaka, who led the autopsy team, declined to reveal the causes of Kim's death. The police, however, believe he committed suicide in his cell.
The autopsy was conducted after the local police obtained permission from the dead man's relatives and the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta.
Kim, one of more than 150 prisoners who were moved to the prison from Jakarta, was on death row for a bloody robbery that took place in Batam, Riau, in 1991. --JP
