Prison complex catches fire

SURABAYA: A handicraft center within the Kalisosok prison
caught fire on Tuesday night.

The three-hour fire that started at around 11 p.m. caused
extensive damage but there were no casualties reported, Antara
said yesterday.

Ten fire engines were mobilized to put out the fire. Police
said early investigations suggested that the fire may have been
caused by burning sawdust.

Hundreds of policemen were called in to protect against the
possibility of any prisoners running away. (05)
