Prison-assisted UMKM products from Pangkalpinang penetrate West Java market
Processed pineapple dodol produced by a micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) from Tua Tunu Village, Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands, has been shipped to West Java Province for the first time, with a consignment of half a tonne dispatched on Friday (26/6). This marks a tangible outcome of community economic empowerment through a development programme run by the Tua Tunu Class II A Correctional Facility in Pangkalpinang. The Pangkalpinang city government has stated it is ready to facilitate a pineapple production house in the area to strengthen residents’ economic self-reliance and support the sustainability of shipments until the total quota of three tonnes is met.
