Prioritise Prevention, Don't Forget Health History Screening
As preparation for the upcoming joint leave and Eid holiday period, BPJS Kesehatan Communications Head Rizzky Anugerah has reminded participants of the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN) to complete their Health History Screening. From 6 March 2026 onwards, JKN participants who have not completed their 2026 health history screening will be required to complete it before accessing services at Primary Health Care Facilities (FKTP).
“Health history screening is important for detecting the risk of chronic diseases that people may have, particularly as the trend of chronic disease sufferers is increasingly affecting younger age groups. For this reason, BPJS Kesehatan provides this screening service. The earlier it is detected, the sooner it can be anticipated and treated,” explained Rizzky on Tuesday (10 March).
Rizzky explained that people can complete their health history screening through the Mobile JKN Application, the Administrative Services WhatsApp Chat (PANDAWA) at 08118165165, through the website www.bpjs-kesehatan.go.id, or by visiting their registered FKTP directly.
In this screening, JKN participants are asked to answer a series of questions regarding lifestyle, personal medical history, and family health history. The process is relatively quick, taking between 5-10 minutes.
During January-February 2026, Rizzky explained that at least 22.68 million JKN participants had completed their health history screening. Of this number, approximately 7.1 million JKN participants (39 per cent) were indicated to be at risk of hypertension, stroke, and heart disease.
Rizzky urged these at-risk JKN participants to visit their registered FKTP to undergo examination or receive further treatment from a doctor.
“Health history screening is conducted once a year for JKN participants aged 15 years and above. Our hope is that the implementation of this health history screening can build public awareness to better care for their health. This preventive and promotional health culture also needs to be supported through active involvement of FKTP as promoters of public health,” said Rizzky.
On another note, Rizzky also reminded the public to regularly check the active status of their JKN membership. Ways to check JKN membership status can be done through PANDAWA, the Mobile JKN Application, or BPJS Kesehatan Care Centre 165.
“Whilst still healthy, take the time to check your JKN membership status. The process does not take long, but it is important to do so to avoid obstacles when sudden illness occurs. If our JKN membership status is active, there is already certainty of financing guarantees from BPJS Kesehatan in case JKN participants suddenly need health services,” said Rizzky.
Rizzky also requested that no JKN participants be denied health services solely because of membership status issues.
JKN participants can still obtain services even when they are outside their residential area.
Officials also noted that JKN participants can receive medical services regardless of their location outside their home province.
