Priok Police Dismantle Drug Network, Seize Rp 2 Billion Worth of Methamphetamine
Two methamphetamine traffickers, identified by the initials F and B, have been arrested by the Narcotics Unit of the Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Police. From the possession of F, police seized 2 kilograms of methamphetamine worth more than Rp 2 billion.
“The total gross weight is 2,072.17 grams, or approximately 2 kilograms, valued at more than Rp 2 billion,” stated the Head of Narcotics Unit at Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Police, AKP Trendy Habibie, on Thursday (11/06/2026).
The disclosure of this case began when police received information regarding the circulation of methamphetamine in the Kelapa Gading area. The suspects had been moving between locations to evade officers.
“The modus operandi involved moving locations, starting in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta. The team conducted an investigation, during which the targets moved to the Cempaka Putih area, and then to the Krukut area, Tamansari, West Jakarta,” he said.
Police initially apprehended F and B on Wednesday (10/06) night. Upon searching the suspects, officers found one black bag containing two paper bags, which held 11 plastic clip packets containing methamphetamine with a total gross weight of 2,072.17 grams.
“The methamphetamine was brought from Riau,” he added.
The suspect admitted to receiving instructions from an individual with the initial B to collect the methamphetamine packages at a petrol station in Cempaka Putih. The suspect further stated that the drugs were to be delivered to an unknown individual in the Tamansari area, West Jakarta.
“The suspect has twice received and delivered methamphetamine, promised a monetary reward upon completion of the task,” he said.
The suspects and the evidence have been taken to the Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Police for further investigation. Eleven plastic packets containing methamphetamine and three mobile phones were seized as evidence.
The perpetrators face charges under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, and/or Article 609 paragraph (2) letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 regarding Criminal Law Adjustment.
