Printing Staff Confinement Case Reconstructed, 41 Scenes Re-enacted

Police have conducted a reconstruction of the case involving the confinement of three printing company employees in Senen, Central Jakarta. A total of 41 scenes were re-enacted during the reconstruction. “Yes, that is correct. The results of our reconstruction only re-enacted 41 scenes, adjusted from the statements of the victims, witnesses, and the suspects,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra on Friday (14/8/2026). He stated that the suspects were presented during the reconstruction. According to him, so far the statements of the suspects and witnesses match the results of the reconstruction. “Essentially, they match. However, there might be a few details, such as the position when releasing pressure, whether it was in a sitting position or actually in a prone position, it turned out to be in a sitting position, just that, but in general it is synchronised,” he said. It is known that police have named seven suspects in the case. Of the seven suspects, five are men and the other two are women, identified as CML and II. The seven suspects are AI, S, AYL, CML, who were detained on Saturday (27/6), and MML, NHJ, and II, who have been detained since Sunday (28/6). In this case, the seven suspects are charged with alleged criminal acts of extortion and threats and/or deprivation of a person’s liberty and coercion and/or maltreatment as per Article 482 and/or Article 466 and/or Article 471 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, the three victims were confined for 21 days after being accused of stealing printing plates worth Rp 250 million. During their confinement, the three were shackled at the feet and not given food for three days.
