Traders at the Pringgabaya Public Market in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), will be provided with temporary stalls and receive compensation of Rp 2 million following the fire that occurred on Monday (27/4). The construction of these stalls is estimated to cost around Rp 400 million.

East Lombok Regent Haerul Warisin has promised Rp 2 million in compensation for each trader. He stated that the assistance aims to ease the burden on the traders.

“Everything requires a process; we hope our traders will be patient. Insyaallah, we will provide them with startup capital assistance of Rp 2 million each,” said the regent, familiarly known as Iron, during his inspection of the market on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

In addition, the East Lombok Regency Government is planning to build temporary stalls for the traders so they can resume trading soon. The construction of a permanent market will be budgeted for 2027.

“It will enter the priority budget in 2027. So, for a short-term solution, we will build temporary stalls for the traders so they can sell again,” said Iron.

Head of the Public Works and People’s Housing Department (PUPR) of East Lombok, Ahmad Dewanto Hadi, said the budget for constructing the temporary stalls is estimated at Rp 400 million. The construction will be discussed and realised immediately.

“We will build these temporary stalls as soon as possible; tomorrow we will hold a meeting directly. This is still an estimate for the budget, around Rp 400 million,” Dewanto stated.

He added that the construction of the temporary stalls is expected to take about one to two months. The stalls will be built using frame materials and spandek roofing.

“For the temporary stalls, I think it won’t take long because it’s just spandek roofing, then the frame and foundation. It might take a maximum of one to two months for everything,” Dewanto remarked.
