Principle in hot water

PADANG, West Sumatra: The principle of the Indonesian Embassy School in Singapore has been summoned by police here for allegedly hoaxing 83 local teachers when he was still at the provincial education office, Antara reported.

Head of the Municipal Police Lt. Col. Nazwar Rismadi said the schoolmaster 10 years ago promised each of his victims a house.

Only after he collected down-payments of Rp 500,000 (US$231) to Rp 600,000 and promised land certificates after the deal was through, did his victims realize they had been cheated.

His 83 victims last August reported the fraud to the police, after which he confessed he gained Rp 30 million from the scheme. (pwn)
