Prince Edward visits Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Prince Edward urged British firms to make extra efforts to transfer skills and technology to Malaysians as he and his wife Sophie started a three-day visit to the country on Monday.
In their first engagement, the Earl and Countess of Wessex toured the British Malaysian Institute on the outskirts of the capital.
The prince called in a speech for greater technological cooperation, especially in Malaysia's hi-tech Multimedia Super Corridor.
The technical institute began operations in January after Malaysia and Britain agreed to collaborate to produce technologists and engineers.
