Prince Charles and Archbishop of Canterbury to attend memorial service
LONDON: Prince Charles and the Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey, will join mourners on Friday at a church service to pay tribute to the victims of the Bali bombings, officials said on Tuesday.
Up to 2,000 people are expected to attend the memorial service at St. Paul's Cathedral in central London. Thousands more are expected to gather outside the cathedral for the event organized by the Australian High Commission.
"Australia is a country in mourning but so many other nations were affected and we want them all to be united in their grief," said a spokeswoman for the High Commission, on condition of anonymity.
"This service is for all the victims who had their lives so brutally cut short, are still missing or are injured."
More than 180 people, many of them Australian tourists, were killed when bombs destroyed a nightclub on the Indonesian holiday island Oct. 12. -- AP
