MANILA (AFP): Britain's Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, arrived in the Philippines on Thursday for a three-day visit as part of a tour of Southeast Asia.
The prince made no statement as he disembarked from a small plane at the Philippine air force headquarters to military honors. He was met there by air force chief Lt. Gen. Benjamin Defensor and trade secretary Manuel Roxas.
During his stay the prince, a Royal Navy officer, will visit the Philippine navy headquarters and call on President Gloria Arroyo, a British Embassy statement said.
He will also visit a British school in a Manila suburb and a natural gas project off the western island of Palawan.
