An 11-year-old girl was found dead in a pile of rubbish at an abandoned house in Tallo district, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Police are still investigating the cause of her death.

“Yes, the victim is a sixth-grade primary school student,” said Tallo Police Chief AKP Asfada to CNNIndonesia.com on Wednesday (27 May).

The victim was discovered deceased around 5:00 AM WITA on Wednesday (27 May) and reported to the police, with INAFIS and Sulsel Police forensic team conducting identification.

The body was found lying on her back with several cuts on her left arm and bleeding from the genital area.

“The victim was found in a pile of rubbish at the abandoned house,” he said.

However, Asfada admitted he does not yet know the exact cause of death.

“We are still investigating and awaiting the INAFIS and forensic results,” he said.
