Primary School Teacher in West Sumba Allegedly Molests 13 Students

A teacher identified as Marselinus Munceng, also known as MM, is suspected of molesting 13 male and female students at a private primary school in West Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“Yes, for the time being, based on the investigation, there are 13 victims, but we cannot rule out the possibility of more,” stated the Head of Public Relations for the West Sumba Police, Ipda Ruslan Amin, on Sunday (6/9/202<0xA0>26).

Ruslan revealed that the sexual misconduct experienced by the dozen victims occurred between October 2025 and June 2026, during which time the victims were attending private tutoring sessions at the school.

Police investigations also suggest that MM may have a sexual deviation. The victims consist of both female and male students.

“The modus operandi involved private tutoring, combined with the perpetrator’s sexual deviation,” Ruslan explained.

According to Ruslan, the case only came to light after the victims’ parents reported the matter to the police. Following the report, the West Sumba Police immediately conducted a series of investigations, interviewing eight victims as witnesses.

Furthermore, four victims have undergone medical examinations at the Waikabubak Regional General Hospital. In handling the case, the police have also involved psychologists to provide assistance and conduct psychological assessments for the victims.

“Investigators have also examined experts to complete the necessary evidence for the subsequent legal process,” added Ruslan.
