Primary School in South Jakarta's Srengseng Sawah Catches Fire, 17 Fire Engines Deployed

A fire broke out at a primary school located on Jalan Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Thursday (6/8) afternoon. The fire incident was reported to the fire department at approximately 11:36 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. “The object is a primary school,” according to data from the Fire Department Command Centre. A total of 17 fire engines and 68 personnel were deployed to the fire location to extinguish the blaze. Firefighting operations commenced at around 11:44 a.m. The fire was successfully localised at 11:50 a.m., followed by a cooling process at 11:53 a.m. “The fire situation/status is cooling process (yellow),” the statement read. The cause of the school fire incident remains unknown at this time.
