Primary and Secondary Education Minister Receives Thank-You Letter for President from Student in Underdeveloped Region
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti has received a letter of gratitude from a student in North Nias Regency, North Sumatra Province, addressed to the President, thanking the Government for its role in developing education in the area classified as a 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) region. Mu’ti stated that the handwritten letter by the student, Nasya Losefa Zega, was titled ‘A Love Letter for Mr President’. ‘It is very good. I will deliver this letter directly to President Prabowo Subianto,’ said Mendikdasmen Mu’ti in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday. He said the letter conveyed the sincere gratitude of the students for the Government’s attention to educational development in remote areas of Indonesia. On the same occasion, Nasya recounted that her school has now undergone changes that make learning activities more enjoyable. ‘Thank you, Mr President. Our school has now been renovated and we are learning using Digital Interactive Boards. I am very happy to be able to learn with my friends,’ said Nasya. For children in 3T areas, she said these changes are not merely additional facilities. The presence of better learning facilities brings a new spirit and makes Nasya and her friends feel they are not left behind by children in other regions. She also promised to continue studying diligently, respect her teachers, and care for her friends in order to achieve her noble dream of becoming a teacher.
