Prices of Rice, Chilli, and Cooking Oil Remain High; Check the Commodity List
The National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) of Bank Indonesia reports that the price of low-quality rice I has risen by Rp 400 to Rp 15,250 per kg, and low-quality rice II has also increased by Rp 350 to Rp 15,000 per kg.
Meanwhile, the price of medium-quality rice I remains at Rp 16,550 per kg, while medium-quality rice II has decreased by Rp 100 to Rp 16,250 per kg. Furthermore, the price of super-quality rice I rose by Rp 150 to Rp 18,000 per kg, and super-quality rice II also increased by Rp 100 to Rp 17,400 per kg.
In other commodities, the price of medium-sized shallots decreased by Rp 150 to Rp 38,300 per kg, and medium-sized garlic decreased by Rp 250 to Rp 39,150 per kg. Additionally, the price of chicken eggs fell by Rp 450 to Rp 29,200 per kg, and fresh chicken meat dropped by Rp 2,450 to Rp 40,100 per kg.
However, large red chilli prices rose by Rp 4,800 to Rp 57,050 per kg, and curly red chilli prices increased by Rp 3,550 to Rp 61,200 per kg. Green bird’s eye chilli prices also rose by Rp 3,950 to Rp 66,350 per kg, while red bird’s eye chilli saw a significant increase of Rp 9,300 to Rp 92,350 per kg.
Regarding meat, the price of quality I beef fell by Rp 2,200 to Rp 149,550 per kg, and quality II beef decreased by Rp 800 to Rp 141,550 per kg. For sugar, premium quality granulated sugar dropped by Rp 100 to Rp 20,250 per kg, whereas local granulated sugar rose by Rp 50 to Rp 19,150 per kg.
Finally, the price of bulk cooking oil rose by Rp 250 to Rp 20,700 per litre, while branded packaged cooking oil I decreased by Rp 450 to Rp 23,900 per litre, and branded packaged cooking oil II fell by Rp 100 to Rp 23,350 per litre.
