Prices of Onions, Rice, Eggs, and Chicken Decline; Beef Also Drops

Bank Indonesia (BI), through the National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS), reported that the price of lower-grade I rice rose by Rp 100 to Rp 14,850 per kg, while the price of lower-grade II rice fell by Rp 150 to Rp 14,450 per kg.

Declines also occurred in the price of medium-grade I rice, which fell by Rp 200 to Rp 16,200 per kg, and medium-grade II rice, which also fell by Rp 300 to Rp 15,900 per kg.

The price of super-grade I rice also fell by Rp 200 to Rp 17,450 per kg, and super-grade II rice also fell by Rp 200 to Rp 16,950 per kg.

The price of medium-sized shallots fell by Rp 50 to Rp 40,250, while the price of medium-sized garlic remained unchanged at Rp 41,800 per kg.

Furthermore, the price of purebred chicken eggs also fell by Rp 100 to Rp 29,550 per kg, followed by the price of fresh chicken meat, which also fell by Rp 1,100 to Rp 38,800 per kg.

The price of large red chillies also fell by Rp 1,400 to Rp 48,050 per kg, and the price of curly red chillies fell by Rp 650 to Rp 47,750 per kg. This was followed by the price of green bird’s eye chillies, which fell by Rp 1,850 to Rp 50,350 per kg, although the price of red bird’s eye chillies rose by Rp 2,100 to Rp 57,600 per kg.

The price of grade I beef also fell by Rp 3,550 to Rp 147,500 per kg, and the price of grade II beef also fell by Rp 450 to Rp 141,500 per kg.

The next commodity, premium granulated sugar, rose by Rp 100 to Rp 20,400 per kg, and the price of local granulated sugar also rose by Rp 50 to Rp 19,150 per kg.

Lastly, the price of bulk cooking oil remained unchanged at Rp 20,450 per litre, branded packaged cooking oil I rose by Rp 300 to Rp 24,600 per litre, and branded packaged cooking oil II also rose by Rp 500 to Rp 23,900 per litre.
