Prices of Onions, Rice, Chillies, Meat, and Eggs Fall

Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI), through its National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS), has reported a decline in the prices of several staple foods. The price of lower-quality rice I fell by Rp 200 to Rp 14,500 per kg, while lower-quality rice II dropped by Rp 850 to Rp 13,700 per kg. Medium-quality rice I decreased by Rp 550 to Rp 15,800 per kg, and medium-quality rice II fell by Rp 1,450 to Rp 14,700 per kg. Furthermore, the price of super-quality rice I declined by Rp 1,150 to Rp 16,500 per kg, and super-quality rice II also fell by Rp 1,150 to Rp 16,000 per kg. The price of medium-sized shallots dropped by Rp 15,000 to Rp 30,000 per kg, while the price of medium-sized garlic fell by Rp 12,500 to Rp 32,000 per kg. Fresh chicken meat prices decreased by Rp 2,500 to Rp 34,500 per kg, and purebred chicken egg prices fell by Rp 2,950 to Rp 26,000 per kg. For chillies, the price of red bird’s eye chilli was recorded at Rp 45,000 per kg, large red chilli at Rp 28,000 per kg, curly red chilli at Rp 47,100 per kg, and green bird’s eye chilli at Rp 30,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of quality I beef stood at Rp 130,000 per kg, and quality II beef at Rp 120,000 per kg. The price of premium granulated sugar was recorded at Rp 19,000 per kg, with local sugar at Rp 17,000 per kg. Lastly, bulk cooking oil was priced at Rp 20,000 per litre, branded cooking oil I at Rp 22,000 per litre, and branded cooking oil II at Rp 25,000 per litre.
