The prices of red bird’s eye chilli and chicken eggs have shown a significant upward trend today, 2 June 2026. The National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) reported price movements for several major food commodities at the retail trader level nationwide. According to the latest data as of 09:50 WIB, red bird’s eye chilli reached Rp75,650 per kilogram (kg), making it one of the highest-valued commodities in the market currently. Meanwhile, chicken eggs are priced at Rp30,400 per kg. This increase is a serious concern for consumers amidst the fluctuations of other strategic food prices.

The rice sector also experienced price variations depending on quality. Super Quality I rice is currently marketed at Rp16,950 per kg, while Quality II is at the level of Rp14,800 per kg. On the other hand, kitchen spices such as shallots reached Rp54,000 per kg and garlic reached Rp39,600 per kg.

For animal protein commodities, the price of Quality I beef remains at Rp150,700 per kg, while Quality II beef is sold at Rp143,900 per kg. Fresh broiler chicken was observed to be stable at Rp36,900 per kg. In the cooking oil sector, branded packaged cooking oil (Type I) reached Rp24,250 per litre, followed by Type II at Rp23,250 per litre. Bulk cooking oil, which serves as a mainstay for lower-middle-class communities, was recorded at a price of Rp20,850 per litre. This PIHPS data is expected to serve as a reference for the government and relevant stakeholders in maintaining the stability of national food supply and prices.
